Cardiac Surgery: How Prehabilitation Before Cardiac Surgery Helps Heart Patients

Prehabilitation is the process of enhancing a person's individual functional capacity in order to enable him or her to withstand an upcoming stressor. With the rise in the number of ageing population, the demand for surgical services has increased. A recent study found out that older and physically weak patients can benefit from prehabilitation before a cardiac surgery. An increased number of older adults with heart disease is leading to an increase in demand of heart procedures. This phenomenon is being explained by experts as a veritable silver tsunami, reports ANI. Many of these elderly patients tend to have a low physiological nerve. This means that when they undergo a cardiac surgery, they experience a very disproportionate decline in their health condition. This results in a very long recovery time. In some more vulnerable cases, the patients need long-term care facility. These patients have poor post-operative outcomes. They end up having a worse quality of life despite having a successful heart treatment or procedure.

Are You Eating Enough Carbs? Watch Out For These Signs Of Carbohydrate Deficiency

In the world of nutrition, carbs are the second most defamed macronutrient after fats. A number of weight loss diet plans discourage people from consuming carbs. They either ask you to go low-carb or carb-free. But let's get one thing straight; carbs are extremely important for your health. This macronutrient fuels your body, provides it with energy, and ironically, induces weight loss too. This is contrary to popular belief which says that carbs are the main culprit behind weight gain. Carbs can be helpful for weight loss if eaten in the right quantity. So when aiming for weight loss, try to cut down your carb intake if it is over 2000 calories in a day. Aim for 225 o 335 calories in a day instead of 2000. When you consume carbs, your body breaks it down into smaller units of sugar and releases it into your bloodstream. This is then transported to your brain, muscles and cells and fuels them with energy. But when you do not get enough carbs, your body starts to respond in strange ways.

Does Saunth Ki Chutney Make You Gain Weight?

We all love to add a dash of saunth ki chutney on our dahi bhalla, papdi chaat, aloo tikki and raj kachori; basically everything chaat. The sweet-tangy chutney adds to the many flavours chaat has. This chutney is made using dried ginger and tamarind paste and is brownish-red in colour. While it is enjoyed in most Indian street foods, it has a bad reputation for making you gain weight. Tamarind or imli, on the contrary, is a great food to help you shed kilos, considering it has one of the most important compounds known as hydroxycitric acid that is connected to weight loss. Moreover, it has fibre present in it that makes it a healthy food. Now, although the dominant part of saunth ki chutney is tamarind, what makes it fattening? Let's find some answers.

How To Make Spicy Hari Mirch Ki Chutney At Home

Since then, it has become like a tradition that whenever the first spell of rainy season sets in, we make sure to visit Neemrana to savour the delectable dish. It did not take us long to realise our love for this local dish was only because of this lip-smacking hari mirch ki chutney, which initially looked very ordinary but soon took over a heroic personality. This spicy, savoury and sinful hari mirch ki chutney is also known as thecha in states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, which is traditionally paired with a main course. You can use this exotic chutney as a sandwich spread, as a spicy dip, or as a topping for your tea-time snacks.

Well, we don’t talk about them. Mostly, because we don’t talk about sex and sexuality at all – at home or at school. Our understanding of sex and related issues is shaped by what we hear from friends or watch in films. Sadly, a lot of it is plain bakwaas.

Kale is the crowned queen of green leafy vegetables because its nutritional value and health benefits almost make it a superfood. Its history can be traced back to 20th century BC where it originated in the eastern Mediterranean region. Pronounced K-E-I-L, this leaf cabbage belongs to the botanical family of Brassica oleracea and is considered to be a close cousin of wild cabbage, but unlike cabbage kale does not form a head in the central leaves. Kale acquired a superstar status on our menu only as late as 2012. Today, it is a must have in every Michelin-starred restaurant, health food blog or in healthy domestic kitchens.
