PV Sindhu Creates History, Becomes First Indian To Win BWF World Championship Title



PV Sindhu defeats Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in the World Badminton Championships to claim maiden gold. 

By beating Nozomi 21-7, 21-7, PV Sindhu has created history by becoming the first Indian to win a World Championships gold.

The 24-year-old badminton player dedicated her medal to her mother and thanked her coach, Pullela Gopichand and her support staff.
I dedicate this medal to my mother. It's her birthday today.

In Hyderabad, her family is celebrating Sindhu's historic win.
