6 Things PV Sindhu Wants You To Know About Her Dreams of Progress

As kids, we all had ambitions of becoming a doctor, an astronaut or even a pilot. And while many of us let go of our dreams because it involved working really hard towards them, some people never gave up! It's people like these, who believed in those childhood dreams and worked hard towards their goals that inspire us and make us look back at our easier choices. One such inspiring star is our badminton champion, PV Sindhu. At a recent event by Stayfree at the Auxilium School, Hyderabad, she opened up about her journey of becoming one of the top 3 badminton players in the world. Here are some things that she wants every little girl who dares to dream to know about her dreams of progress:

1. There will be challenges

She said she still faces challenges from time to time. She started playingplaying badminton at an early age and had to manage her studies and game alongside; that was her first challenge. Improving her consistency and breaking into Top 10 was another challenge for her. She faces them and aces them like a champion.

2. Don't let anything stop you
Especially, periods. She has been quoted saying, "I have periods just like you. They are normal. Don't let them hold you back. I would encourage you too to never hold back during periods. I trust Stayfree to make me feel comfortable to push that little extra even during period."
3. You will fall in the process of learning
She said overcoming the injury scare just before Olympics and qualifying for it was a bigger challenge. But her dream kept motivating her during these tough times and helped her overcome these challenges

4. Fight for your dreams
Her mother had taught her the most important lesson- fight for your dreams. She knew that she will always have to give her best to the task at hand to realise her dreams.
5. Have endless passion
She was so passionate about Badminton, that she would travel 56 kilometres every day, riding pillion on her father's scooter, to get to her training centre in urban Hyderabad.

6. Practice, practice, and practice
No matter what your dream may be, keep practising. Sindhu used to attend one-on-one badminton sessions with her guru Pullela Gopichand at 5.30am. Gopichand has time and again appreciated her work ethics and her attitude towards her game.
At the event 'Dreams of Progress' organized by Stayfree at her alma mater Auxilium School, Hyderabad, PV Sindhu spoke about her life and her struggles during the journey of fulfilling her dreams. She spoke up about periods and how girls in India often give up on their dreams due to the taboo and conservative thoughts around the same. But she doesn't believe that a normal bodily function should stop any girl from chasing her dreams.

No wonder then that she joined Stayfree to launch their Secure Cottony Soft XL sanitary napkins that are designed to give you long-lasting protection and comfort during periods up to 12 hours. It is perfect to manage your heavy flow without the fear of leakage or the hassle of changing your pad every few hours. So, you don't need to take leaves from school, college or work on your periods. Stayfree Cottony Soft XL sanitary pads are safe, comfortable & effective so that nothing stops you from going out and living your life.
