What works the best is it gel-like form, which can be applied onto the skin and can be consumed in the form of juice as well. However, to increase the shelf life of aloe vera gel, it is of utmost importance to store it in the right manner. Here's a list of few handy ways in which you can store aloe vera gel, without messing with its quality. Read on to know more about them.
Ways To Store Aloe Vera Gel
Store It In A Freezer
If you wish to preserve aloe vera gel for a longer time, just freeze it. All you need to do is to transfer the gel in ice trays and place them inside the freezer. These gel cubes can be used anytime and are quite effective when used on sunburns and dry skin. These aloe vera gel cubes act as an instant first-aid tool as well.
Use Vitamin E Oil
If you happen to use aloe vera gel for facial, nail or hair treatments, then this storage method is apt for you. This is primarily due to the addition of vitamin E oil in the aloe vera gel. Adding vitamin E oil to the gel can enhance its efficiency in a great way. Just add the gel in a blender along with vitamin E oil and blend it properly. Transfer this to a container and store it in the fridge. Use as and when required.
Honey Preservation Method
The biggest drawback of using aloe vera gel in its natural gel-like form is that you don't always use all the gel you extract from the aloe vera leaf, which in turn result in wasting of large quantities. In order to avoid the same, you can combine aloe vera gel with honey as it will help the gel last longer. You just have to mix the leftover aloe vera gel with an equal amount of honey. Use this mixture for making smoothies and facial masks.
Add Vitamin C In It
By adding vitamin C to the aloe vera gel, you can extend its shelf life for up to a month in the fridge. Extract the aloe vera gel and transfer it in a blender. Add lemon juice in it as it is a good source of vitamin C and acts a natural preservative. After blending it together, pour the mixture in a container and store it in the refrigerator.
So, with the above mentioned easy ways, you can increase the shelf life of aloe vera gel and make it last longer. Bring these hacks to your rescue and get going.
